Day One

Last night I took Jake to the hotel. I didn't cry. I got a little teary eyed though. He called me before he went to bed, too. I went to bed around 1am and woke up at 2:45 freaked the 'eff out! First of all, I remembered that he wasn't there. Second, the power had completely gone off in a surge. Apparently the loud noise was what had woken me up. Even our clock that glows was off. Guess it's time to change the batteries. I went back to sleep and got another call from him before he left at 4:30ish! I feel so bad for him though :-( He didn't get any sleep two nights in a row. He told me that his roommate came bursting into the room at 11:30, and woke him up. Then he couldn't fall back asleep. I bet he's exhausted today, my poor baby!

Kept myself busy today. Well, mostly. I got up, at breakfast and took a shower. Played on my computer a lot longer than I should have ((but that isn't new)). Actually went grocery shopping before 1 o'clock. Bought a new book that I've been waiting for... Awakened ((from the House of Night series)). Made myself lunch. Salmon with lemon, basil, and dill on top of brown rice. It was pretty much amazing :-) I started reading my book and my father-in-law texted me to see if I wanted to go to my brother-in-law's wrestling meet ((I have 3 BILs and 1 SIL. The youngest BIL, and my SIL are both in middle school)). So I went. He lost his match, and was pretty upset... but I was happy for the company. Then we went to their house  for dinner. Meatball subs! And now I'm home getting ready to read, cuddling with my cat, Dante. Waiting on Jake to call with his scripted arrival speech. End of Day 1.

Fare Thee Well, My Dearest

Well... the hubby leaves me for boot camp today :-(

I haven't cried yet, but I still have to drive him to the hotel. He'll stay there for the night and leave tomorrow. Ahh! I hope this 2 months goes by fast.

Notre Premier Anniversaire

If you couldn't tell... I love French. I got straight A's all through high school in it and tested into the highest level my first year of college. I miss it. I want to relearn it since the whole college thing has been a stop-and-go-and-stop- and-go process for me.

Ah, onto the subject of ze blog. Hubby and I had our one year anniversary on the 7th! He got me a dozen beautiful roses, a photo album, and a disposable camera to fill it up. I was surprised at how thoughtful everything was! He is truly amazing. Oh! my card was also the sweetest ever! Suffice it to say, he did a good job.

Basically we just spent the whole day together. We went on a drive. I made us steak, scallops, and broccoli. And we watched some movies and went to bed. It was a fairly long day despite how short that description was. We watched The A Team which was awesome :-) I love me some Liam Neeson. He's old, but hot AND had a dreamy voice. Bradley Cooper isn't bad either. Mmmm.
We also watched Get Him To The Greek and Letters To Juliet, both of which were pretty good.

Right now my sister-in-law and I are making a Facebook page! WooHoo! We're trying to think of a name, but it will be for military wives/significant others. Her hubby... my hubby's brother is in the Army and was in the Marines. I will definitely let ya'll know what the name of it is once we get it figured out. That is... if anyone reads this and it applies.

Busy Bee

Things have been busy since I've gone back to work. I either working, driving, or sleeping. That and trying to spend as much time with Jake as I can.

I am really starting to get nervous, and unhappy about him leaving for boot... but then I think about all the ladies who have husbands on deployment... and I feel silly. Sure I'm going to be sad and lonely, but I will get to see him after 2 months (maybe longer). I can suck it up. It'll be good for me to get a little taste of what a deployment is like.

With that I'll leave you, as I must prepare for another day at work. Closing shift. Ugh.

I'm Not A Weirdo-- Honest.

So if you've come to my blog, because you saw that I am now following you... it's because you're either a Navy wife/significant other or military wife/SO. I'm getting ready to jump into this life sooner than I can imagine, and I just want to have some other ladies' perspective.

I will not be offended if you remove me. I understand all about that.
I will be happy if you follow me in return! :-)
